A 12-question survey targeted toward physicians and the unique qualities of their experience with refractive surgery was sent to 226 physicians who had refractive surgery at the Cole Eye Institute. Among the 58 percent who responded, 96 percent said they would have the procedure again. Respondents included surgeons (28 percent), physicians who perform procedures but not surgery (43.2 percent), and physicians who do not perform procedures or surgery (28.8 percent). Of the physicians, 84.8 percent reported an improvement in vision quality, 39 percent reported that their ability to perform procedures accurately had improved. Dr. Collins received Laser Vision Correction years ago and includes himself in this group, stating: “I sure am glad I had mine done; it makes doing my job and life in general so much easier.”
