WHAT IS A CATARACT?
A cataract is a clouding of the eye’s natural lens that occurs as we age. This cloudiness blocks and distorts light passing through the eye and thus impedes clear vision. Over time, the cataract will grow larger and cloud more of the lens.

COMMON CATARACT SYMPTOMS
- Cloudy or blurry vision
- Bright colors become dull
- Glare from headlights, lamps or sunlight
- Halos may develop around lights
- Poor night vision
- Frequent changes in your glasses prescription
- Difficulty reading in low light
If you suffer from any of the symptoms above, schedule an appointment with one of our surgeons so they can evaluate your eyes, determine whether you have cataracts, and suggest an appropriate treatment option to correct your vision.
FIND YOUR PATH TO FREEDOM
At Collins Vision, we specialize in Refractive Cataract Surgery, where the goal is to remove your cataract and reduce your dependency on glasses at the same time by correcting refractive errors such as nearsightedness, farsightedness, astigmatism and presbyopia with a premium intraocular lens. It’s an advanced procedure that goes beyond standard cataract surgery to deliver amazing results designed to fit your unique vision and lifestyle. Your lens will be hand-selected by Dr. Collins, Dr. Friedrichs, or Dr. O’Neill to best fit your needs.
By selecting Refractive Cataract Surgery with a premium lens at Collins Vision, you’re choosing freedom. Learn more about our unique Refractive Cataract Surgery Paths below.
This path is recommended if you have a small amount of astigmatism, which can make your vision blurry after surgery if we don’t address it. With this option, we’ll correct your astigmatism so you get the very best results with the lens you’ve chosen. This path uses a high-definition monofocal lens and bladeless laser cataract surgery to smooth out small imperfections on the cornea.
The Enhance Path is recommended if you have higher levels of astigmatism. This path uses a toric lens, designed specifically to correct astigmatism inside the eye. Surgery requires extra planning before and extra precision during the procedure, sometimes with ORA guidance, to confirm proper placement.
With the Elevate Path, our goal is to not only remove your cataract but to elevate your level of vision to reduce or eliminate your need for corrective eyewear. Whether you have astigmatism, are nearsighted or farsighted, or wearing readers due to presbyopia, our lens offerings could help you overcome your vision challenges and help you live your life to the fullest with the vision you deserve.
The Elevate+ Path includes the RxSight Light Adjustable Lens, the first IOL that allows your surgeon to optimize your vision after your cataract surgery.
