Meet Barry and Cheryl

Barry and Cheryl Boyd travel from their home in Saratoga Spring, New York to Fort Myers, Florida each winter. They look forward to trading their snow boots and heavy coats for shorts and sunshine!

In 2021, Cheryl noticed that her vision wasn’t what it used to be. She even wondered if something was wrong with her prescription and new glasses. After a visit with her optometrist, Cheryl learned her vision issues weren’t due to a problem with her prescription and glasses. It was cataracts.

A family friend recommended Cheryl see Dr. Michael J. Collins at Collins Vision. And she couldn’t be happier that she did! One visit was enough to convince Cheryl, a retired nurse, that she would have the cataract surgery she needed at Collins Vision.

When Cheryl’s surgery day approached, she was so impressed with the organization of the entire practice and, ultimately, how easy the surgery was. From her initial consult to surgery day all the way through to post-op care, Cheryl was impressed at every turn.

So when Barry began to notice his vision diminishing, there was no question who would perform his cataract surgery. Just about one year after Cheryl’s successful surgery, Barry went in for his.

A Couple that Sees Together Stays Together!

Barry and Cheryl have enjoyed their post-cataract surgery life. Both Barry and Cheryl are enjoying being able to comfortably read small print again.

“I can see colors much more vibrantly and everything is so much clearer,” said Barry. “And the best part, I can see so much better at night, just like when I was 40!” And if Barry could give advice to anyone who is on the fence about having cataract surgery? “Do it; it’s worth it! You don’t understand until you have done it, but you wake up and can see. It’s pretty amazing.”
