Since our inception 20 years ago, Collins Vision has embodied a culture of giving back and serving our community. Our entire staff is committed to this effort and looks for ways to donate their time and talent to those causes and organizations that improve the lives of local residents.
Our founding physician, Dr. Michael J. Collins, is a passionate Board of Directors member of Captains for Clean Water – a local nonprofit organization that fights to restore and protect Florida’s water resources. As someone who grew up fishing these waters with his dad and raised his two daughters on the same grass flats, Dr. Collins is committed to the fight and is determined to do everything he can to protect it for his grandchildren. Our very own Dr. Jason C. Friedrichs is a Florida Lions Eye Clinic board member and a volunteer clinic surgeon, providing his extensive surgical skills to those in need. The Florida Lions Eye Clinic provides free state-of-the-art eye care, including eye-sight-saving laser surgical treatments for eye diseases for Floridians without eye insurance who are at or below 200% of the federal poverty guideline level. Collins Vision recently sponsored the Vision Fest event – a car show, auction and afternoon of fun activities that raise money for the clinic. This year’s event raised over $85,000.
