At Collins Vision, we believe strongly in exceptional care for our patients, so we are extremely discerning about the people we select to be on our team. 2025 has been a remarkable year so far and we are delighted to introduce you to two of our newest extraordinary team members, Katheryn Cregan, OD, and Maivys Longa, OD.
Meet Dr. Cregan
Dr. Katheryn Cregan is a board-certified clinical Doctor of Optometry. At our ever-growing Naples location, Dr. Cregan sees patients for pre and post-op care for cataract surgery and is an integral part of our clinical team. She provides comprehensive eye exams as well as problem-oriented exams with emphasis on the diagnosis, treatment, and management of ocular disease.
Dr. Cregan has special interest in the diagnosis and treatment of glaucoma and age-related macular degeneration and enjoys working with our patients living with these conditions. Dr. Cregan is dedicated to providing excellent patient care and is committed to furthering her knowledge on the latest advancements in the field.
She credits a medical mission trip to Uganda while she was in college for sparking her interest in eye care. “We dispensed eyeglasses to adults and children who badly needed them and it was so moving to see the profound impact that clear vision had on these individuals,” she said. “It was life changing.” Dr. Cregan is fluent in Spanish, allowing her to serve a broader patient population.
When she isn’t working, Dr. Cregan enjoys spending time with her family, exploring the various beaches of Southwest Florida, traveling and staying fit and active. You can learn more about Dr. Cregan’s education and affiliations here.
Meet Dr. Longa
Dr. Maivys Longa is a board-certified clinical Doctor of Optometry. She studied at the Kentucky College of Optometry after earning her Bachelor of Science in Biology at Florida International University. Before joining Collins Vision, Dr. Longa gained a broad scope of experience in three focused clinical externships and in private practice.
Dr. Longa sees patients for pre and post-op care for cataract surgery and provides comprehensive eye exams as well as problem-oriented exams with emphasis on the diagnosis, treatment, and management of ocular disease. Dr. Longa has special interest in the diagnosis and treatment of corneal disease, dry eye and macular degeneration.
Dr. Longa believes excellent patient care begins with taking the time to develop relationships with her patients, making sure they feel seen and heard. Dr. Longa is fluent in Spanish, allowing her to better serve and communicate with a broader range of patients. A travel and wine enthusiast, Dr. Longa enjoys cooking, dancing and enjoying the beautiful beaches in the area.
