Dr. Maivys Longa is a board-certified clinical Doctor of Optometry. She studied optometry at the Kentucky College of Optometry after earning her Bachelor of Science in Biology at Florida International University. Before joining Collins Vision, Dr. Longa gained a broad scope of  experience in three focused clinical externships and in private practice. Dr. Longa sees patients for pre and post-op care for cataract surgery and provides comprehensive eye exams as well as problem-oriented exams with emphasis on the diagnosis, treatment, and management of ocular disease. Dr. Longa has special interest in the diagnosis and treatment of corneal disease, dry eye and macular degeneration. Dr. Longa believes excellent patient care begins with taking the time to develop relationships with her patients, making sure they feel seen and heard. Dr. Longa is fluent in Spanish, allowing her to better serve and communicate with a broader range of patients.
