UNPARALLELED TECHNOLOGY
Our philosophy at Collins Vision is to always offer our patients the most advanced technology available in eye care without ever compromising the safety of our patients. Extensive training and experience in the latest techniques for the treatment of cataracts, corneal diseases, dry eyes, macular degeneration, glaucoma, and diabetic retinopathy ensure that our patients receive the safest, most up-to-date care available anywhere.
Collins Vision is one of the first few practices in the country to obtain the VICTUS® Femtosecond Laser Platform to assist in performing custom laser cataract surgery. Custom laser cataract surgery, represents one of the great surgical advancements of our time and the VICTUS® in particular has been named the new benchmark for safety and precision.
The same laser is also used to perform 100% blade-free LASIK. Blade-Free LASIK is a highly sophisticated technique of preparing your eye for your LASIK procedure. This method is unique because Dr. Collins uses the laser to create the corneal flap (versus a blade) making LASIK an all-laser procedure. With computer precision, the laser gently separates the layers of corneal tissue and creates a customized flap. To learn more about LASIK and other laser vision correction procedures, click here.
With the advanced Bausch & Lomb ZYOPTIX personalized laser vision correction system, Dr. Collins can advance your vision to a new level of precision and clarity, and even treat eye imperfections that previously could not be corrected with conventional LASIK techniques. More LASIK procedures are done with Technolas lasers worldwide than with any other system. Dr. Collins participated in the FDA clinical trials that led to the approval of the ZYOPTIX wavefront technology.
The OCULUS Pentacam® utilizes a rotating camera to create a 3D topographic map. This gives Dr. Collins and Dr. Friedrichs the most accurate measurements of the thickness, contour, and shape of your cornea and ensures that he has the most comprehensive information about your eye prior to your cataract or laser vision correction procedure.
The OCULUS Pentacam® provides a topographical map of both the front and back of your cornea.
Collins Vision is pleased to announce the ORA SYSTEM® the next generation in providing precise measurements of the eye during cataract surgery. This allows our doctors to measure the eye and refine visual outcomes during the procedure, rather than having to ‘wait and see’ weeks or even months afterward, as with traditional cataract surgery. ORA SYSTEM® measurements are used to assist the procedure and help ensure patients get the best possible outcomes.
The ORA SYSTEM® uses Wavefront technology to analyze many possible imperfections of the way light passes through the eye to the retina. ORA SYSTEM® can tell if the eye is in focus at the time of surgery, and if it is not, the ORA SYSTEM® helps our doctors focus the eye.
Benefits of the ORA SYSTEM® include:
- The ORA SYSTEM® helps our Doctors achieve better results and provide our patients an improved quality of vision.
- The ORA SYSTEM® gives us an added level of support for better outcomes.
- If you have astigmatism, and choose to have it corrected at the time of cataract surgery, the ORA SYSTEM® may improve the accuracy of your correction to help reduce the chance you’ll need to wear eyeglasses after your procedure.
